In this guide, I’ll explain to you how to get started with Fiverr in 2021, so let’s begin.

What is Fiverr?

If you do not know what Fiverr is, then with this guide you’ll know. Fiverr is the biggest freelance services marketplace fathering numerous creatives, experts, and freelance professionals and also it has over 300 categories and over 3 million digital services (gigs) you can be part of, and offer your services to those that require it as well as make cash.

Fiverr started in 2010 and initially, each gig cost $5; thus the name. In 2014, Fiverr got rid of the $5 cost limitation. As the industry proceeds to expand, the quality and also quantity of gigs have actually increased substantially, as well as currently you can find virtually any digital service there.

Fiverr works much like any other marketplaces. Sellers detail their services (gigs) and customers who are interested in these services ask inquiries as well as if they are pleased with answers, purchase them. Fiverr functions like a middleman guaranteeing both parties are happy with the end result. Fiverr takes 20% of every transaction. As soon as the seller delivered the gig and the customer validated the distribution, Fiverr will pay the seller within 2 weeks (faster if you are a trusted seller).

What Are Fiverr Gigs?

Fiverr gigs are the services that are offered by the sellers (freelancers) on the Fiverr website. The gig price varies from $5 to $10,000. Even though most gigs cost only $5 there is usually an upsell for extra and better-quality services. Most gigs fall under one of these categories:

There are more than 3,000,000 gigs on Fiverr in over 300 categories and sub-categories:

  • Graphics & Design
  • Digital Marketing
  • Writing & Translation
  • Video & Animation
  • Music & Audio
  • Programming & Tech

  • Lifestyle

You can go through Fiverr and look at the categories yourself if you’re interested in checking it out, but there are a lot of different categories that you can check out and you might have skills that you can offer to clients on Fiverr.

How Does Fiverr Work?

You can offer it on Fiverr if you have a unique skill or skill that others would find it useful. Possibly you’re a graphic designer, website designer, video editor, social media influencer, or even musician maybe.

Whatever your skill is, Fiverr provides you the possibility to share those skills with the rest of the online world. As well as most importantly, you can earn money while doing what you like.

The process of locating Fiverr jobs is rather simple. Yet first, it’s important to recognize both various parties associated with the transaction. Right here’s exactly how Fiverr functions:

Fiverr is a two-way communication system, which suggests both customers as well as sellers have the chance to find each other. A buyer can browse through the profiles for sellers that meet their requirements. Or, a seller can look through buyer requests for tasks that match their skills.

How to sell on Fiverr?

As a new seller and you’ll be able to make up to seven gigs you’ll be able to have seven active gigs, and I recommend using all of them, if you can, even if you’re only offering one service, you can just create seven different gigs for that one service and just word them differently, use different photos, etc. If you have seven different opportunities to be hired, why not use all of them?

There are thousands of people on Fiverr there’s a lot of competition out there, so utilizing all seven of your gigs will help you get a better chance at getting higher those first few times the way Fiverr. Have you titled your gigs? If they have you say I will and then you fill in the blank. So, if you were a logo designer, you could have seven different gigs for logo, designing, and just word them differently.

So, for example, you could say I will design your logo. I will design your business logo. I will design a vintage logo, I design the website logo, I will design a logo in 24 hours. I will give you five logo options.

Those are just some examples of different gigs that you can have that are all the same gig basically. You should utilize all seven of your gigs. So, once you have started filling out your gig information, there’s a bunch of information in there you’re going to want to fill out and then you’re going to want to do your description and a good gig description will tell people who you are, what you’re offering and why they should hire you?

It’s really important to answer all three of those questions and look really professional in this part because this is where you’re selling your service to your buyer. This is where you can stand out against your competition.

Once you have your gig set up it’s time to just wait for orders to come in. You want to make sure you have your gig totally set up you’ve added tags, you’ve added information, you’ve added, good keywords, stuff, like that for people that are searching for specific things, when they’re on Fiverr looking for a freelancer and it can take a while to get that first order.

I think it was about a week before I got my first order, but it kind of snowballed from there here are some tips to getting your First few orders, my first tip, and my biggest tip is to start cheap and I don’t usually say this because I think that you should charge what your time is worth.

But when you’re just getting started on Fiverr and you have zero reviews and you’re up against people who have been on there for years and have lots of reviews, it’s important to kind of get those first few reviews and you’re going to get a better chance at getting those first few orders if you’re really cheap, because people are willing to gamble on you if your service is a lot cheaper than everybody else and later on you can increase your fees gradually with time.

By this time, you have made yourself a reputation and got good reviews. In order to boost your sells and increase your earning on Fiverr, here are some tips:

  • You can offer a package. For example, three different packages, basic standard, and premium. Each package has a different price tag let say, Basic: $10, Standard: $20, Premium:  $30. Here you need to describe what includes in each package, like: how many logos in each package, the number of revisions, delivery time
  • Offer extras for your gig. For example, if you design logos and your buyer order a premium package you can offer 5 extra logos for $5, etc.
  • Delivery time. If you said that you can deliver in 24 hours or two days, make sure you deliver within that time frame so that you can impress your buyer and hopefully get a review from them. Here you can offer extras also. If your standard delivery time, let say 2 days, you can charge extra for 1-day delivery.
  • Share your gig on your social media, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Quora, etc. Share it with other people who might be interested in purchasing your gig

How you’ll get paid?

Because all buyers must pay up beforehand, you’re 100% guaranteed to be paid for your work. You don’t have to worry about working with dodgy individuals or unverified businesses.

The three options available for getting paid on Fiverr:

  • PayPal
  • Fiverr Revenue Card
  • Bank Transfer (Direct Deposit for the US)

Conclusion

Fiverr provides an excellent opportunity to start earning online as a side hustle or as a full-time online business. With the right skills, dedication, and a positive work ethic, you can easily find online gigs that fit your talents and lifestyle.

Once you build a reputation you can climb the ladder of seller’s level from just a seller level to a top-rated seller and you’ll have the potential to earn as much as you can while having the freedom to work wherever you want.

And Remember what’s limits you, it’s only you.

Best of luck
