You must know who you’re marketing to. Of course, to know your audience, you must know who your target market is. For example, if you want to sell products for men, you might include some sports-related videos on your blog or website.
Have several affiliate offers ready in case one doesn’t convert
Having several affiliate offers will allow you to try different things and see what works for you. But, unfortunately, not every offer will convert the way you think it will, and sometimes some offers stop converting after a while.
That’s why it’s best to have several back-ups offers ready that you can push in case your first option doesn’t pan out.
Track your links, so you know what people are clicking on
You need to know what people are clicking on your website to optimize it to get more leads. You can do this by using Google Analytics or adding a simple script that will show you what people are clicking. This information is invaluable because you want to know what links people are clicking the most on.
Use different lead magnets to entice people with other interests
Don’t send everyone to the same landing page to get them to join your email list. Instead, send them to specific landing pages that contain information about what they’re interested in.
Furthermore, you also want the lead magnet that entices them to join your list to be different. You’ll have a much higher join rate if the freebie you offer targets what specific people want.
Utilize your thank you page by showing them offers
After a person enters their email address to join your list, you need to then send them to a thank you page. This is where you thank the person for joining your email list.
The thank-you page should have an affiliate offer of interest to the person who joined your email list. You won’t see super high conversions on your thank you page, but every little bit helps you turn a profit.
Gain the trust of people by showing your face
You’re going to get more conversions if you have people who trust you. It’s one of the best strategies to use in affiliate marketing. This can be done by simply adding your picture to your profile or by including pictures of yourself in your blog posts.
You want people to see you as a real person and not only someone sitting behind a computer screen.
If you buy advertising, retarget those who don’t make a purchase
If you buy ads on Facebook or Google, make sure you retarget those who don’t buy anything. These people have already shown an interest in what you’re selling, and showing them a few more ads may convince them to buy.
Show yourself or others using the product or service that you’re selling
We’re going to talk about this a little bit more because it’s vital to increasing your conversion rates. A major problem that dropshipping stores have is, they take pictures from the manufacturer and throw them on their site.
These pictures might look okay, but they’re the same that every other drop shipper is using.
You need to either show yourself or someone else using whatever it is that you’re pushing through an affiliate offer. This will make it look more authentic and real to the buyer. As a result, you won’t come across as some spammy, scammy person who is only out to make a buck.
Yes, this means that you’re going to have to invest some money and buy the product or service you’re promoting. If it’s a service, maybe they have a free trial, or you can convince them to let you use the service for free.
If you have a big enough following online, you might even be able to convince the affiliate company to send you a sample product so you can make content with it.
It can’t be stressed enough how important it is that you have unique content that shows what you’re selling in action. It can be a video or an image, but you must demonstrate what the product does in action to your audience and potential buyers.
You’ll instantly connect with the potential customer, and that’s the moment you convince them to buy.
Make sure people know the benefits of what you’re selling
Before you can sell your product or service, you first need to make the audience aware of the problem. What is it that they’re missing out?
Then, you need to get them excited about finding a solution, and that solution is your product.
Many affiliates make the mistake of selling their product without first telling the audience how it will benefit them. This can be a deadly mistake because it’s only after the story is told that the product becomes interesting to consumers.
Remember, people want benefits, not features. The key to successful marketing is in the presentation of your product’s benefits and not in the features.
Benefits over features. Benefits are a much more powerful way to present information than is simply listing a product’s features.
Amplify the problems that your product solves
It’s your job to make sure that the person is fully aware of just how bad their situation is and how much they need your product. Make sure that you’re showing them how bad things are and how your product will make things better.
Don’t shy away from going deep into the pain points of the situation that they face. Tell them why they need this product. Maybe it’s because you just lost your job, or maybe they’re under a lot of stress at work.
Whatever the real reason is, make sure you tell them that your product will help them with their problem.
Use the visual power of video to sell the product
You know what they say; seeing is believing. That’s why video is so powerful when it comes to selling a product or service. People are visual learners and they remember a lot more when it’s being shown to them.
Don’t shy away from using video as much as you possibly can for your affiliate marketing. Once you upload that video, make sure you optimize it for search engines. As a result, people looking for something connected to your product or service will come across your video.
YouTube is a fantastic place to get a ton of free traffic, and videos there can drive sales if you put in the effort to get your content to rank.
Answer questions and get traffic to your content
You should provide links to your content in some of your answers to the questions.
For example, maybe you made a YouTube video or wrote a blog post that answers their question.
What you want to do here is to answer the question in your post, but tell them for more information, click on the link or watch your video. It’s so much better to embed the video to make it easier for them to watch.
You might think that a video embed is useless, but if YouTube sees that people are watching your video, they will boost it in the rankings, and you’ll get more organic traffic when people search for videos.
Offer a special discount for a limited time only
If you can strike up a deal with an affiliate company, you can use it to your advantage. Tell people that they only have a certain amount of time before the special offer expires. Have a countdown clock telling people how long they have before the price goes back up.
The great thing about this is, it makes people not want to miss out. Ensure that
the person sees the clock tick away, so they are fully aware that the special offer is available for a limited time only.
Test, test, and test some more
The best affiliate marketers are those who continuously test to see what works and what doesn’t. They try out a lot of new things and stick to the ones that make them money. They don’t stick to one tactic when it stops working.
Find as many different ways as possible to market your affiliate products or services. Then you can see what converts better. You also need to be aware that not all traffic is created equal. Email list traffic may convert better than
YouTube traffic, depending on how you got people to join your list. Always split test everything and try your best to improve conversions. Even a slight improvement in your conversion ratio can result in hundreds, if not thousands, more revenue every year.
