Can I Still Make Money With Affiliate Marketing In 2022?

Is it still possible to make money with affiliate marketing in 2022?

I’m sure you’ve heard of affiliate marketing. Basically, you are recommending products and services online and earning a commission for every sale made through your affiliate link.

Affiliate marketing is popular online because it has many advantages over many other online business models. The three main benefits are…

* No need to create products or buy inventory.

* Once you’ve made a sale, you’re done – the seller supports the customer.

* You can offer a wide range of products in your niche by offering products from many different retailers.

And honestly, these three reasons are exactly why affiliate marketing still works and is a viable business to get into, whether you’re a newbie or a veteran.

It’s ideal for stay-at-home moms and dads, as well as grandparents. As a stay-at-home dad, I make well over a thousand dollars a month on average as an affiliate, and that’s really not my primary focus.

Here are some screenshots showing you some of my daily commissions at JVzoo. Admittedly, these are some of my better days, but this will give you an idea of what’s possible with online affiliate marketing…

So how much money can you make from affiliate marketing?

Well, that all depends on you.

There are literally thousands of small traders paying out thousands of dollars a month to affiliates through WarriorPlus, Clickbank, JVZoo, internal affiliate programs, and other affiliate networks.

There are countless affiliate marketers and bloggers making a full-time income from home, and there’s plenty of room for more.

Affiliate marketing as a business approach, in my opinion, is still viable and will be for many years to come.

So how do you get into affiliate marketing?

The first step is planning your affiliate business and that includes choosing a market to work in.

This is absolutely the most important step. If you get it right, the sky’s the limit. If you fail here you will waste countless hours without a payout.

For starters, you need to know that you can focus on ONE niche and ONLY one niche.

It takes work to create a new website or blog, add content and generate traffic. Therefore, working on just one topic is the best strategy, at least until you make money from the project. Then you can consider expanding it or moving into a different niche altogether.

Here’s what you need to get started:

You need a topic, a constant stream of helpful content, a website or blog, and a list-building strategy. Let’s take a look at each of these processes individually.

Choose your affiliate niche topic

Select a niche

Start by choosing a niche topic that meets one of these two criteria…

  1. Markets with many products/services that people will buy practically forever. These are known as “evergreen” markets and ensure the long-term viability of your affiliate business. Some examples are hobbies and pastimes like sports, gardening, lifestyle, tutoring, etc.
  2. Markets with many desperate and/or impulsive buyers. These are your more personal products that help with things like ailments, looks, relationships, etc.

It is also helpful if you enter a niche that you are either familiar with or at least interested in. For example, if you don’t like cooking, I wouldn’t recommend starting a BBQ blog. You won’t really enjoy yourself and it will show in your content.

You also want to make sure there are good products in your chosen niche – either on-topic products and/or products on Amazon.

Create your blog or website

Create a blog

Thanks to WordPress, this is now easier than ever. Setting up a website with the self-hosted version of WordPress can be done in a day or two if you are computer savvy.

And there are many topics for affiliate marketers these days. You can use the theme that comes with WordPress or buy a premium theme if you want to save time and maximize sales.

Once you have the theme installed on your WordPress site, start populating your site with useful content that your niche audience is searching for. Remember to focus on helping people!

Write (or resource) your blog content

Write a content

Once you’ve chosen a niche to work in, just focus on helping people in that niche. That’s right; your major focus should be on assisting people rather than selling products.

As you help more and more people, you will gain a following. More and more people will trust your advice. Then, when you recommend a product or service, you get lots of commissions!

So how do you help people?

With relevant, useful, and insightful content. You know, articles, tips, videos, etc.

If you find writing a chore, you can easily rent out your writing to professional writers. I entered niches that interested me but knew little about. I just scoured the internet to find out what advice people wanted and then hired writers at textbroker.com or fiverr.com to do research and write original articles for me. The items cost me about $10 each, which is worth it considering I save about two hours each time!

You can even find PLR article bundles for just about any niche. Just search Google for your niche and PLR articles.

Create an email list

Build an email list

Once you’ve set up a blog, your focus should be on building an email list of potential customers.

Yes, even with affiliate marketing, you need to build an internal email list. That’s how I managed to get those nice commissions shown at the top of this post. but Email to my opt-in subscribers.

You see, when people come to your website or blog, it may not be their first purchase. But if you manage to add them to your list, they will be able to see your future advice and recommendations!

To do this, you need a tool called an autoresponder. This handles signups for you, as well as your follow-up and broadcast emails. I use an autoresponder service called GetResponse. They are a leading service provider with an excellent reputation. Another good Autoresponder option is called received answer.

Once you have an autoresponder, you can easily add opt-in forms to your website or blog. There are many ways to do this, from premium options like the premium tool called EZPops to free plugins like this opt-in form plugin.

It also helps to give away something of value – a training course or a pack of downloadable goodies that your site visitors won’t be able to resist. If you don’t have time to create something like this, then buy it!

There are tons of products in every imaginable niche that you can buy with Master Rights. That means you can personalize them and give them out. Just search the internet for “your niche + plr ” or “your niche + master rights”.

In conclusion, affiliate marketing is here to stay…

Affiliate marketing is just too lucrative for merchants to ever give up. And that means there will be affiliates making money practically forever. Why not be one of them!

Once you’ve mastered this four-step plan above, you can put it into action over and over again in multiple niches if you like. You will begin to build consistent affiliate income streams for years to come.
